Manner
See the MANNER of a voice — the consonant complement of the Formants node. Where Formants shows the vowel (the vocal-tract FILTER), this shows the SOURCE that excites it: is the sound VOICED (a vowel, a hum), BREATHY (aspiration, /h/), a hissing FRICATION (/s/, /ʃ/, /f/), a NASAL murmur (/m/, /n/), or a plosive BURST (/p/, /t/, /k/)? Wire a mic (or any signal) through it and the live sound plots as a glowing point in a SOURCE TRIANGLE whose corners are the three Klatt source generators — Voice, Breath, Frication: a vowel rides high near Voice, /s/ sits at the Frication corner glowing hot (a voiced /z/ lands between the two), a plosive fires a white shockwave. The point's position IS the Voice/Breath/Frication mix — the exact control the coming Klatt Voice synth plays, so the analysis scope doubles as its source-mix surface. An ANALYTICAL pass-through: the audio flows through UNTOUCHED — a zero-latency side-tap. An Analysis-family node. The excitation read lives in the kernel (excitation::detect_excitation, the SOURCE half of source-filter); audio.js taps the samples it owns and renders the triangle.
