The COMPRESSOR block — tame dynamic range the direct-signal way: bend the in->out TRANSFER CURVE where you want the sound to stop getting louder. Drag the knee down the unity diagonal to set the threshold; drag the upper arm shallower to raise the ratio — two numbers become the SHAPE of one bent line, not a pair of dials. Style it Clean (VCA) / Opto (LA-2A) / FET (1176) with the segment; trim make-up level with the Output. A gain-reduction curtain pumps live on the curve so you SEE it clamp. Wire any sound through it.
