Talkbox

Make a synth SPEAK with your voice — the classic talkbox / vocoder, live AND recordable, GATED so it only sounds while you sing. A droning oscillator is the CARRIER; the Formants node hears your voice and drives the Formant Filter's resonances, so the carrier takes on the vowels you sing. An Auto Gate also listens to your voice and GATES the carrier — wired into the filter's input, it opens the carrier only while there's sound and closes it when you stop. Drop it, grant the mic, sing a→e→i and the synth speaks. If it won't open, LOWER the Auto Gate's Threshold (or raise the Mic Gain); if it stays open on room noise, raise it. To CAPTURE a performance: press Rec on the Formants node and sing, press Rec to stop, then Play. A Radar on the output traces the talkbox waveform. Your voice as the filter.
