Noise
A white/pink NOISE source — the texture, wind, and percussion ingredient the engine lacked (and the seed for synth drums: a snare is noise + tone, a hi-hat is filtered noise). Colour blends WHITE (flat, hissy) to PINK (1/f, warmer, equal energy per octave). Filter + envelope it for wind, surf, or percussion. Rust-synthesised (Wave 3.4).
